WFN Strategies designs, engineers and implements submarine optical cable systems for commercial clients, which have utilized repeatered and unrepeatered technologies, and have been transoceanic, regional, or festoon in scope. We have been involved with all aspects of implementing telecommunications systems and Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) – from feasibility studies through capital budgeting to engineering, purchasing, and installation to commissioning & testing.

Our staff has decades of experience in all aspects of worldwide submarine telecoms projects, including the first-ever trans-oceanic fiber systems in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans, as well as regional and festoon systems in Southeast Asia, Northern Europe and the Americas.

Our Pedigree

Inspired by more than 150 years of submarine cable tradition, our personnel represent diverse pedigrees from 360networks, AT&T, British Telecom, Cable & Wireless, Global Crossing, Global Marine, MCI, NEC, SAIC, Saudi Aramco, Sprint/Nextel, STC, TeliaSontra, the US Navy and UUNET. We possess decades of experience in the design, implementation and management of systems, and our average work experience in telecommunications is more than 15 years; 25% of us hold Master’s or higher degrees, and 80% hold Bachelor’s degrees.

Broadband Linking American Samoa Territory (BLAST) is American Samoa’s first-ever inter-island 350 km unrepeatered submarine cable network connecting the six Islands of Fogagogo, Tu’tuila, Ofu, Luma, Ta’u and Aunu’u being implemented in concert with an extensive terrestrial island fiber build-out with a planned RFS of 2015.



Quintillion Subsea is the world’s first-ever 1,900 km repeatered submarine fiber optic network connecting the Alaskan Arctic of Prudhoe Bay and Nome through an express system, and Barrow, Wainwright, Point Hope and Kotzebue through an omnibus system with an RFS of 2017.
